Earlier this week I had the opportunity to attend the Walla Walla Valley Wine Alliance tasting at Seattle's McCaw Hall. 45 wineries representing every corner of the Walla Walla valley were in attendance showcasing their wares, and I must say it was quite a treat. I had the opportunity to catch up with some old and new friends from around the wine industry, including Trey Busch from Sleight of Hand Cellars (loved 'The Illusionist' BDX blend, also features the likeness of NPH on the label), Brian Rudin from Cadaretta (where his 'SBS' caught me by surprise as a fantastic white blend), and Paul Zitarelli from the excellent wine retail mailing list Full Pull Wines. It was a great opportunity to see and taste what was happening out east for us living on the west side of the Cascades in Seattle.
For any of you in the pacific NW at the end of the month, I would highly encourage attending part deux of the Walla Walla wine showcase in Portland on Feb 24th.
Looking forward to later this year when we will source our first Washington wine under our own label!
